Duggars, Racing and Dancing

It's right in the middle of the fall TV season and I am loving.  There is almost always something for me to watch on the DVR.  My current reality favs are 19 20 Kids and Counting, The Amazing Race and Dancing With the Stars.  I have also been catching Survivor.

Lets start with Dancing With the Stars.  My current favorite is JR.  I am so glad he was the one to get the first 2 perfect scores of the season.  For a couple of weeks I have felt like the first 30 was right around the corner and it was between JR and Ricki.  I would have been happy for Ricki too if she would have got the first 30 but I was happy it was JR.  I especially like his instant dance this week.  I am not loving Hope or Nancy at this point.  I don't see Nancy taking the dancing very much farther.  I am finding Hope and Maks to be irritating.  I wasn't loving them in the first place so when Maks had his little melt down a couple of weeks ago it was the last straw for me.  I am so over them.  And then there is Rob just trucking along, doing better every week.  I think some "stars" were eliminated before there time leaving others in longer than they should have been.  Its getting down to the nitty gritty now.  Who is going home this week??

I LOVE The Amazing Race.  I seriously would love to be on the show some day.  My favorites this season are Andy and Tommy (the snowboarders) and Bill and Cathi.  Who would think the Grandparents would still be in at this point?  They are still doing great.  I think my favorite part of the last show was when Andy and Tommy beat Ernie and Cindy of the mat in a foot race.  That to me is what the show is all about.  I also don't really like Cindy very much, she just bothers me with how controlling and anal she seems to be.  Is it show editing or is she really like that?  In my opinion she is really like that.  And Jennifer, girl,  you should have just gone back to the bus station when you weren't sure what was next instead of just sitting around hoping you would see another racer.  You just eliminated yourself right there.

Finally the Duggars.  They announced just this morning on the Today show that they are expecting #20.  Crazy business I tell ya!  I am going to tell you how I really feel about that on my main blog over here.  Tonight is the season finale.  In the previews it appears to be a question and answer session so it should be interesting to see how they announce that to the whole family.  I don't feel like anything really remarkable has happened this season except for one of the boys falling into the orchestra pit in Atlanta.  I am looking forward to their world tour.  It should be interesting seeing them travel in a large group with small children.  I have traveled in a large group with People to People so I kind of know what it is like but we were all the same age with 4 or 5 chaperons.

Entertainment

I know this blog is called Reality Round Up.  I want to talk about more than just reality shows though.  I watch more than just reality shows so why not cover all aspects of entertainment?

This week is fall premier week.  I couldn't be more excited.  Grey's Anatomy is back.  Survivor and Amazing Race.  Modern Family.  NCIS and Criminal Minds.  And the new shows starting that look so good.  Up All Night.  There are others too I know there are I just can't think of them right now.

A DVR dilemma is what we have in my house.  There are 3 of us living here and we all watch different shows.  Sometimes Most times the show overlap.  Our DVR only records 2 shows at once.  And if 2 shows are being recorded you have to watch one of those shows of something that is already recorded.  This is not so much a dilemma for my roommates as it is for me.  I watch my shows soon after they air and then delete them when I am the only one in the house that watches them.  Often I am left with nothing to watch. :(

Luckily for me most of my shows come online the next day.  But still, sometimes I don't want to watch Psych or Dancing With the Stars or Wrestling.

Wrestling.  WWE style.  Totally fake I don't even pretend to understand how anybody can watch it.  It takes up the DVR 2 nights a week for 2 and a half hours or something absurd like that.  If I notice early enough that it has a higher recording priority than one of my shows I change it.  Is that mean of me?  Probably.  Yes actually it is I just don't care.

What was this blog even supposed to be about.  Oh yes, I think I am going to write about my thoughts on the dramas and the comedies too.  Because frankly as much as I love ridiculous reality TV it just doesn't seem to be holding my attention right now.  Hopefully that changes before too much longer because I usually love my some Survivor and Amazing Race and I like to know what is going on.

Ok this totally random all over the place blog is done now.  But I just remembered that I haven't watched this weeks NCIS yet.  I love that show.  Peace out.

This Week In Reality TV

So...I'm not feeling very inspired to wrap up these reality shows right not.  After watching Teen Mom tonight there were somethings I wanted to mention but not re-cap the whole show.  So maybe I will mention what I think are the best and worst parts of the shows I watched this week.

Kate Plus 8 (both episodes):
-It was good to see Kate take Cara and Mady to visit with Jon's aunt and uncle.  We haven't seen any family members since Kevin and Jodi.  It is nice to know that the kids do still see some of their family.
-I also liked seeing all the kids work together to make a movie but the woman running it irritated me.  It didn't seem like she had very much patience with the kids.  For someone who supposedly works with kids making movies all the time she would be more tolerant of short attention spans and bickering.

Bachelor Pad:
-I don't think there was a good part of this show.  Three hours of ridiculousness.  Vienna needs to get over herself.  And what was Jake thinking giving the rose to her?  Who knows.  I didn't watch this show last season so I am brand new to it.  And even though I do read Reality Steve I haven't read the spoilers for Bachelor Pad yet.  Maybe I won't because if I know what is going to happen I am less likely to watch.

Teen Mom:
-I thought it was absolutely hilarious when Leah picked up the strip of condoms Gary had left on the floor.  Good one Gary way to be a parent.
-Farrah trying to hide her dog from her mom was also a hilarious addition to the episode.  I wonder how long she thought that was going to last.  Her mom has been stopping by an awful lot in recent episodes.
-I didn't like that Gary and Amber couldn't agree on having a joint birthday party for Leah.  There relationship is so bad, they are off and on all the time.  If they keep up with this Leah will have no idea what a healthy adult relationship looks like.  Then again since they can't seem to get along maybe it was better they didn't have a joint party.
-Ryan needs to grow up.  I know he lives with his parents but they need to stop putting ideas in his head.  Maybe it isn't the best thing for Maci and Kyle to be living together but they are going to have to get over it eventually.  At some point both Ryan and Maci will probably get married (not to each other) and Bentley will have step parents.  What are they going to do then?

Teen Mom: Trials and Tribulations

Apparently it takes me a while to write these things even though all I do is sit on the couch and watch TV all day.  I really need to get a job.  Anyway I am finally wrapping up episode 4 of Teen Mom.

Maci's school year is starting back up.  Even though she is living with Kyle in Nashville she is still going to school in Chattanooga.  That is a 2 hour drive.  Today she is meeting with her adviser while Bentley is with Ryan.  She hasn't seen her grades from last semester yet so she looks at them now.  She failed math and communications.  Her and the adviser talk about things and how she cant loose sight of things.  After that she goes and talks to her parents.  Her dad doesn't know Kyle has moved in yet.  When she tells him he doesn't necessarily seem upset that she is living with Kyle he just doesn't think she needs to be driving so much.  I can't imagine driving that much with how high gas prices are but I guess this was filmed last year so the episodes that are airing happened nearly a year ago by now.  At this point she is still wanting to stay in Nashville but you definitely get the sense that she is considering moving back to Chattanooga.

Catelynn still needs to get some stuff from her mom's house so she calls her to see when she can do that.  As soon as April answers the phone she starts yelling that Catelynn needs to come get her S#*t and she has until 3 o'clock.  April is on edge because Butch is out of jail but she can't see him.  Catelynn and Tyler take Butch to lunch and talk to him about how they want April to be happy and how they have all gotten past placing Carly up for adoption and now they need to start going to counseling so that maybe someday Carly can come and see them.  Butch agrees but they aren't sure if April will.  Butch talks about how he learned in rehab you can't do it for anybody but yourself.

Farrah apparently finally decided to get a lawyer and she goes to see him along with her mom.  He tells her what needs to be done in order for Derek's mother to see Sophia and suggest that she files a response requesting to dismiss the case since Derek's mother hasn't really met the requirements to get rights.

Amber has been going to counseling to help her work out her issues since the police and CPS are investigating her.  Amber and Gary have been fighting a lot (no surprise) and broke up a few days ago (also not a surprise) so Amber is staying at her old apartment with a friend but there is nowhere for Leah to sleep so she has been staying with Gary.  They are meeting up to talk about the investigation.  Leah puts her shoes on all by herself and Amber is really excited.  Gary tells Amber that CPS stopped by looking for her and they wanted to see Leah.  Apparently they called Amber was in therapy so she couldn't answer and they left her a message.  Gary says they had a stack of papers like this and hold his fingers about an inch and a half apart.  Gary says they need to tell the attorney they want him to represent them because CPS wants to talk to them at the end of the week.

Catelynn and Tyler are feeling good about trying to help the family after their lunch with Butch the previous day so they decide to talk to April about it when she visits them.  April makes a comment about how she would never see the day Catelynn was doing homework but she was just joking.  When she walks in to the apartment she has a lit cigarette in her hand.  There is no way I would let anybody smoke in my house.  They talk to her about seeing Butch at lunch yesterday and bring up counseling and repairing the family.  Then they say how she must be bummed about not seeing him she agrees and then leaves.  She totally shut down when they brought Butch up and didn't really say anything about what she thought about counseling.

Farrah meets up with Derek's dad and Step Mom again to fill them in on what is going on with the visitation ordeal.  They talk about how Derek's wouldn't want any of this he would just want them to be taken care of.  They offer to help with court or anything and all Farrah wants them to do right now is just be there so that Sophia can know the good side of Derek.  They say they will always be there for her and Sophia.

Bentley is with Ryan for a few days and Maci has been spending most of her time driving back and forth to school.  When she gets home from her 2 hour drive she walks in to her apartment and says its a mess.  While she is cleaning up the living room Kyle comes down stairs and says that he was going to clean but he fell asleep.  He then asks her why she is in a bad mood and she says she is tired.  All she does is drive and it sucks.  Kyle offers to drive sometime but then she wouldn't have a way to get back.  She says she is going to move home and asks if he is coming.  He has his job to worry about and they have done the long distance thing before.

Amber is really nervous about her meeting with CPS and talks with her friend about what is going on.  She gets a call from the lawyer and her tells her they are now meeting at the police department.  That really freaks her out.  But the lawyer is on his way to meet with her before the talk to CPS.

Farrah checks the mail and finds out she is still going to court to resolve the visitation issue.  Debra (Farrah's mom) explains the situation to Farrah.  Basically Derek's mother is trying to say that Farrah wouldn't allow her to see Sophia so that is why they didn't have a relationship before the trial.  Farrah and Debra agree the best thing to do is go to court to fight her.

Maci is spending alot of time with Kyle and her friends before they move back to Chattanooga.  They are hanging out at the park.  While Maci is talking with her friend about moving back to Chattanooga Kyle is playing with Bentley and it is pretty cute.  You can tell they really do love each other.

Catelynn calls her mom about her leaving the other day.  She tells her mom she feels like their relationship isn't getting any better and April doesn't agree.  They try talking on the phone and it doesn't go very well.  April says how every time she tries talking all Catelynn does is give one word answers.  Catelynn says the reason for that is because sometimes she doesn't know how to take her.  Basically I think Catelynn just doesn't know how to handle all of  April's moods.  I still don't think April has agreed to counseling at this point.

Catelynn and Tyler are talking about the phone call.  Tyler brings up the point that he thinks April has a hard time admitting her wrongs.

Maci and Kyle are trying to get Bentley to go potty.  It is pretty funny because Bentley is just running around with out his pants on.  Voice over Maci says it would really suck if Kyle doesn't move to Chattanooga because he really helps her out parenting Bentley.  While Kyle is at work Maci goes to Chattanooga to look for apartments.  When she finds one she calls Kyle to let him know and he sounds sad about it.  When she says he can move there to he says its not that easy.  He just doesn't want to leave his job if he doesn't have another one lined up in Chattanooga.  Its good to see him be smart about that.  I really like Kyle for Maci they are good together.

Amber and Gary meet with the lawyer and then head to the police department after dropping Leah off at the babysitter.  CPS just wanted to ask some questions and are going to check up on them in 6 months.  Her friend asks her what she is going to do about Gary.  Amber says she can't think about it right now because her mind is to cluttered.  Gary's mom goes over to his place to talk to him about the situation.  Tells her that Leah will not be taken away from him Amber looses her rights he will get her.  He already is taking care of her.  Gary's mom says that he needs to let Amber do her own thing right now because Leah doesn't need the back and forth that they are doing right now and I totally agree with her.

Farrah and Debra are talking about court tomorrow.  Farrah is really stressed.  Her mom wants the judge to drop things before they get to the point of doing character assassinations and they agree not to bring Sophia to court with them.  On the drive to the court house Debra tries to lighten the mood by telling Farrah about getting on the Barney website with Sophia but that just stresses Farrah out even more.  Farrah says Debra sucks at being her mom and Debra says she is going to overlook it.  Obviously Farrah is just stressed and even though you can tell Debra is hurt by what Farrah said she realizes that Farrah is really stressed.

Catelynn and April go to counseling.  I guess she did agree in the phone call and I just missed that part. They talk about how they aren't good at expressing their feelings together.  April says she wasn't mad or disappointed when they placed Carly she just felt like an outsider because when she did find out information it was second hand and not strait from Catelynn.  I think they really accomplished something in this counseling session.

Farrah's visitation case got dismissed and she calls Derek's dad and step mom to let them know.  While Farrah and her mom were in court Farrah's dad was watching her so when they get home they share the news with him.

Kyle shows up at Maci's new place and she gives him a tour.  And then he tells her he quit his job and is gonna move to Chattanooga.  He seems really embarrassed that he quit his job to move down there.  While quitting his job before he had a new one seems kind of crazy it shows that he does love them and want to be with them.

What can we look forward to tomorrow?  Catelynn getting a bill and realizing they need to get jobs.  Farrah being in jeopardy of graduating and taking Sophia to the best pumpkin patch I have ever been to.  (Farrah is from Council Bluffs, IA and I am from just south of Omaha so I often see familiar place in her segments.)  Bentely's birthday party and Maci wanting to take him after even though its Ryan's day.  This sparks Ryan maybe wanting to take her to court.  And finally Amber crying about not getting to spend and time with Leah and Gary seeing her all the time (you will her how I feel about that when I wrap up the next epsiode.)

Teen Mom: The Last Straw

I don't know why but I am having some trouble keeping up with the Teen Mom and Dance Moms blogs.  So I guess today I will cover the last 2 episodes of Teen Mom and try to keep up after that.  I think it might have something to do with not wanting to write such long detailed posts.  Lets be honest a one hour show covering 4 different girls jumping around from girl to girl could get kind of long if I went in chronological order of how the show went.  So I think I'm going to go with the shorter summaries of what each girl did in the episode.  Besides who likes reading something really long?  Not me, just give the main details.

Episode 3:

-Farrah has decided to put modeling on hold to concentrate on raising Sophia and finishing culinary school.  She is also in the process of potty training little miss Sophia.  She puts her on the toilet then goes back in the living room.  Meanwhile the camera stays focused on Sophia because she is unrolling the toilet paper.  Before Farrah checks on her she manages to undo the entire roll.  I don't have kids but I have worked in a daycare setting before.  Whenever I had a kid that was potty training I would stand right next to the kid.  Sophia isn't yet two but I have seen kids potty train early.  I guess I am just trying to say that until the kid can do the whole potty thing by themselves you need to be watching them the whole time they are on the toilet.  Farrah still hasn't heard from social security about benefits for Sophia.  She no longer talks to Derek's sister who helped her determine paternity but now she is talking to his dad and step mom.  Farrah's mom goes along for the first meeting since Farrah hasn't seen them in a while.  The way Farrah's mom talks drives me nuts.  They brought along pictures of Derek throughout his childhood and they basically just talk about how much Derek loved Farrah and all that.  They decide to go see where Derek is buried.  Farrah finally hears from social security.  Even though Derek is Sophia's dad the claim has been disallowed because he never acknowledged Sophia as his child to his mother.  As it seems is usual this season Farrah's mom pops on over just when something happens and Farrah needs to talk about it. (Farrah is renting the house she lives in from her mom who lives across the street.)  Farrah calls her lawyer to see what she can do about social security and finds out that Derek's mom wants visitation rights for Sophia.  I think it is pretty ridiculous that the woman wants rights to see her grandchild yet she basically denied that child to social security.  Farrah's mom pops in yet again right after Farrah gets off the phone.  Farrah is getting ready to take Sophia to the park and she gets served with the papers notifying her that Derek's mother wants visitation.  Farrah calls her mom to tell her about this new development and this time both of her parents pop over.  Farrah feels like it is a joke.  Her mom says they need to write down everything they have against her.  Farrah doesn't want other people to talk  for her.  Her mom says right now there isn't a 100% chance Farrah would win and Farrah freaks out and then in her voice over says she wished her mom would understand that she just wants to deal with this herself.  Well Farrah if you want to deal with this yourself you shouldn't have gone crying to mommy.  I think that if her mom had been more on her side (even though she is and Farrah doesn't get it)  Farrah would have kept her cool.  Farrah goes to see her counselor since she can't seem to talk to her mom about the issue.  The counselor asks Farrah who she has to rely on and she says no one.  She had to grow up really fast.  The counselor says that she is having a resurgence of her grief because she is becoming involved with his family again and she needs to let the courts handle it and let go of the anger.

-Catelynn and Tyler are headed back to school to finish their senior year.  They missed to many days while she was pregnant with Carly or they would have graduated all ready.  Butch is getting out of jail and going to a halfway house.  In case you didn't know Butch is Tyler's dad and he is married to April Catelynn's mom.  They currently have a no contact order.  The reason Butch was in jail this last time was because they broke that no contact order.  April wants to pick him up from jail but Tyler talks sense in to her and they all agree they don't want to see him go back to jail so Tyler is going to pick him up.  Tyler and his sister amber are going to pick up Butch.  Butch kisses the ground and then they go out for breakfast.  Tyler wants him to make the right decision and not see April.  Butch says he wants to see his wife.  Since Butch doesn't have to be at the halfway house until later in the day Tyler brings him to their apartment and they talk about Carly.  He shows them his knew tattoo.  It has the names of his grandkids on it including Carly.  Then they talk about how it feels to see your kids and then having to leave.  They agree that its sucks.  Catelynn says it is good to see him and she hopes he makes the right decision and doesn't see April.  They are scared about what will happen if he breaks the order.  Tyler is telling him that he sacrificed when he gave up Carly and he thinks Butch needs to sacrifice and not see April.  Butch says he needs some physical contact but in the long run he decides his freedom is more important right now.  Catelynn and Tyler drop Butch drop him off at the halfway house and ask him to call them tomorrow so they know when they can see him again.  Then they talk about how they are glad he is there because they know he isn't out getting drunk.  Tyler then says that if Butch continues to make the wrong decisions then he will stop seeing him.

-Maci is now living with Kyle and she wants him to meet Ryan.  Kyle doesn't want to but Maci convinces him to.  She wants to have a shared birthday party for Bentley with Ryan and wants Kyle to be there with no drama.  Basically she is worried that if Ryan doesn't meet Kyle before the party he would start something with Kyle and I kind of agree with her.  Maci drops Bentley off with Ryan and sets up a time for him and Kyle to meet.  She brings up the birthday party and Ryan says he was planning on separate parties.  Maci says the whole reason for the guys to meet is so they can do things together.  Ryan and his mom are talking about him finally meeting Kyle.  He tells her that Maci wants to have a combined party and she says that she thought they were going to have separate parties but thinks it will be good for the guys to actually get to know each other   Maci is talking with one of her friends about how it is going to be weird to see Kyle and Ryan together. Kyle goes with Maci when they do the Bentley switch so he can meet Ryan.  Basically all that happens is they say hi and shake hands.  Very anticlimactic with how much they built it up.

-Amber gets back from visiting her brother at the water park and finds out that the police are investigating.  In case you missed it last season Amber got mad at Gary and while he was trying to move his things out of her apartment she started to hit him.  Amber has a really bad temper.  I feel like the only thing we ever see her do is get mad or whiny.  Since they are together right Gray is helping her deal with the situation.  He thinks she should get a lawyer.  Amber wonders if maybe it would be cheaper just to go to jail.  Gary says she needs a lawyer so she doesn't say too much when they are questioning her because it could come back to bite her in the butt.  I totally agree with Gary on this because boy does Amber have a 'tude.  The whole time they are having this discussion Leah is in the corner playing with q-tips.  She freaks out on him.  I bet it won't be the only time that happens this episode.  Amber is really stressed out about the investigation.  Gary gets a call from his mom that CPS was just at her house looking for him.  Amber is now terrified that Leah is going to get taken away from her.  Gary wants the whole mess to go away.  They finally decide to get a lawyer and set up a meeting with him.  They have to take a cab to the meeting because they "forgot" to pay some tickets and both of their licenses are suspended.  Pretty much all we see is him telling them what could happen worst case.  Amber says it worries her a lot.  You would think (at least I do)  that Amber would try to think before she acts but she seems  to have a really short fuse and blows up very easily.  Amber tries talking to Gary about how she is feeling and he starts to say something and she flips out because she wasn't done talking.  HE shuts up and lets her finish talking.  She says yes it is her fault because she hit him but he shouldn't provoke her.  Gary sticks up for himself and says nothing he does should ever provoke her enough for her to hit him.  I like that Gary is finally standing up for himself and I agree with him.  Violence is not and never should be the answer to anybody's problems.  Amber doesn't like this and FREAKS out yet again.  She says he is going through nothing except maybe his daughter will be taken away from him.  I don't know why she thinks Leah will be taken away from Gary because he hasn't done anything.  It is her that CPS is looking at. Then she goes to talk to her friends who is living in her old apartment and she complains some more about Gary and everything she is going through.  Voice over Amber says this might be the final straw for hers and Gary's relationship.  Keyword in this is MIGHT.  They have been back and forth on and off so much it is ridiculous.

So I was going to cover the next episode in this post too but I think it is long enough as is.  Episode 4 coming very soon and hopefully I actually get the next episode up in a reasonable amount of time.  And these summaries ended up being somewhat longer than I thought they were going to be.  Except for Maci's because nothing happened with her.

19 Kids and Counting: Duggars Respond and Rescue

This weeks episode starts of with cupcake making for Grandma Duggar's 70th birthday.  Since she is turning 70 they are making 70 cupcakes.  It is also around the time of Jackson and Jason's birthdays so they are celebrating their birthdays as well.  In the middle of cupcake making a storm rolls through the area.  This is the same storm that hit Joplin.  The Duggars apparently only live about an hour and fifteen minutes away.

The four oldest Duggars head to Joplin to aid with search and rescue efforts.  Josh, Jana, John-David and Jill are all members of the local volunteer fire department.  While in Joplin the crew interviewed some of the residents.  One elderly gentleman said something along the lines of "how do you start over at 91?"  And wow, how do you start over when you have already lived nearly all of your life.

Watching the footage in Joplin was a little hard for me.  A few years ago my mom fostered 2 children in a set of 4.  These kids were the nieces and nephew of one of my moms coworkers and for a while she didn't have room for all 4 kids.  Anyways these kids are originally from Joplin and still have family there.  Knowing this my mom had emailed her coworker to just ask about the family that was still back in Missouri.  Turns out the kids have an older brother (my mom may have known this, I didn't) and they were all back in Joplin for his high school graduation.  As they were leaving to head back to Nebraska that is when the storm hit.  They pulled over at a gas station and the tornado missed them by a block or so.  How scary for them.  And even though the kids were in our house for a few months I can't imagine what it would have been like to loose them.

Back to the show.  They go out to a pizza and games restaurant (I think it was Chuckee Cheese but they didn't really show anything that really gave it away) to celebrate Jackson and Jason's birthdays.  When Jackson turns in his tickets for a prize he decides to get a princess set for Johannah.  He is such a sweet boy sometimes.  It is adorable how close he and Johannah are.

Now its off to the bike shop to get new bikes for the birthday boys.  And surprise! Grandma you should try out bikes to.  Since Grandma is 70 they look and the 3 wheel bikes that have pedals in front of you.  And she has a skirt on so its kind of hard for her to get on the bike.  She ends up safety pinning her skirt together so she isn't exposing herself for the whole world to see.  In her little interview portion she says if she would have known she would have worn slacks.  Jim Bob also gets Michelle on one of those weird looking bikes.  She says she like driving the van for the younger ones who get tired.  I probably would too.  I got the feeling that Jim Bob kind of pressured her onto the bike and she just didn't want one.

Turns out they are throwing a surprise party for Grandma.  I'm pretty sure she knew something was going on. Everybody is talking about how great Grandma is and then they bring in her bike.  I think their grandma is pretty great too.  It seems like she helps out around the house a lot.  With chores and with the younger kids.

Next week is Manhattan Duggars.  Where they head to New York for their book tour.  And they apparently take a subway.  They have done this before but their family was with a few less people then.  We will see how it goes.

Teen Mom: The First Two Episodes

First lets review what happened has happened since this is the third episode of the season.

Episode 1:
-Maci goes to the ATM and the child support isn't in her account yet.  Ryan says they took it out of his check.  Ryan also wants to know if Kyle is slow because a lot of people have been asking him.  Also, he wants to meet Kyle so he know who is hanging around his son.  Kyle doesn't want to meet him.  Turns out the bank just messed up and she gets the child support.
-Farrah wants to get her boobs done because it will enhance her modeling career.  She just needs to get a loan.  After she calls a billion banks one finally approves her.  Farrah's mom wants her to get a will in case something happens.  Sophia's dad died before she was born.  Farrah acts resistant but chooses her mom and then grandma to take care of Sophia if she were to pass away.  Farrah gets the boob job, she is cranky after wards.  Her parents help take care of her and Sophia.
-Catelynn notices her window is messed up like someone tried to break in.  Her mom then checks her little brother's room and that window is open.  The basement door was also open when she got home from work.  Call the police.  Decide they need to live in a better neighborhood.  Catelynn's grandma will let her mom April and younger brother Nick stay with her but not Catelynn.  For once April steps up and says she needs to find a place Catelynn can stay at too.  Catelynn and Tyler decide they are going to get a place together.  Catelynn's mom doesn't mind.  Tyler hasn't told his mom yet.
-Amber has a new boyfriend she has been with for 2 months.  They met at Walmart.  Gary calls, he wants to get back together with Amber.  He still loves her and wants them to be a family for Leah.  No surprise Amber decides to go back with Gary.  They go talk to a life coach and accomplish nothing.  Amber breaks up with the now old boyfriend.

Episode 2:
-Maci might have to move back to Chattanooga.  Kyle mentions he could move in with her to help pay the rent.  Maci tells her mom about the plans, her mom doesn't like the idea.  They decide to do it.  Ryan doesn't like the idea either and still wants to meet Kyle.
-Farrah is recovered from her boob job.  She updates her portfolio.  She gets a job as a hair model in Denver.  Leaves Sophia with her mom.  Misses Sophia a lot in Denver, she doesn't really seem to be enjoying herself and doesn't fit in with the other models.  She is happy to see Sophia when she gets back home.
-Catelynn and Tyler start looking at places.  Tyler is being super picky and not liking anything.  They stop at Tyler's moms house.  His mom and older sister try talking him out of moving in with Catelynn in from of Catelynn.  I felt bad for Catelynn.  He doesn't change his mind.  The find a place they like and then move in.  First night in new place how exciting!
-Amber and Gary get a new house together.  Amber's brother invites them to an indoor water park.  They hop in Gary's super sweet minivan and hit the road.  No surprise they start fighting.  Amber is cussing and Gray asks her not to swear in front of Leah.  She totally ignores him as usual.  When they get to the hotel she tries getting a flight back to Indiana.  Amber is somehow convinced to stay and enjoy the weekend.  But she doesn't really.

19 Kids and Counting: Duggar Dental Drama

In this weeks episode Josh, Jessa, Jinger and Joseph are scheduled to get their wisdom teeth removed.  The Duggars have already gone through this experience with Jana and Jill so they know what to expect in terms of diet post-surgery.

Michelle decides to make homemade applesauce.  And takes 9 kids grocery shopping with her.  For the applesauce to feed the whole family 8lbs of apples are needed.  And instead of buying soft food for just the kids getting their teeth pulled enough soft food is bought for the whole family.  Did you notice the frozen pizzas?  Not a soft food.  Maybe that was a pre-surgery food.  Whatever.  I guess it isn't really relevant it just struck me as odd when the whole shopping trip was supposed to be about the soft foods they needed after.

The girls, Jim Bob and Michelle head to the dentists office.  Anna is going to bring Josh and Joseph by later.  Jessa is up first.  Apparently it took twice as much medicine to put her under as it did for her sisters.  While Jessa is back in surgery Anna and the boys show up.  Jinger makes a comment about only drinking water.  Joseph pipes up and says he had been drinking sweet tea.  When the assistants over hear this they pull him aside and aks how long its been since he had the tea.  3 hours.  Apparently the only thing you are allowed to have for the 6 hours prior to the surgery is water so Joseph's surgery isn't going to happen today.  Then Josh mentions that he to had been drinking sweet tea, so no surgery for him either.

Jim Bob arrives back at the dentists office after doing the pharmacy run and learns of the news.  He talks to the dentist to see if there isn't any way the boys can have their surgery that day.  Maybe they can pee alot?  Come on Jim Bob, seriously.

I wasn't all that surprised that the boys messed up.  Lets be real for a minute.  It seems the boys would not be able to survive if it wasn't for the girls and this just proved it.  The boys had their surgery a week later and this time they knew what they were doing.

Next week we celebrate Grandma's 70th birthday and go to Joplin to help with rescue efforts.  See you later for Teen Mom.

Dance Moms: The Competition Begins

I started a more detailed post about this but I just am not feeling like finishing it so I will do a shorter summary instead.

Its the first day of competition season.  Everyone (the mom's) is excited, yea for competitions.  Abby is greeting everyone at the door as they enter the studio.  I think they were trying to trick us into thinking that everyone is happy all the time.  But, if you saw the previews you know that is NOT the case.

Now Abby is talking to the girls and there mom's about what they can expect this season.  For every competition they do they will learn a new dance.  And some of the girls are doing more than one dance.  The mom's are now sitting in their interview chairs saying how most teams perfect a routine for 6 months before they bring it to a routine.

Abby introduces the pyramid.  Basically who ever is at the top is the front and center dancer and so on down the pyramid.  Whoever is at the top can't make any mistakes.  Maddie is at the top of the pyramid for this routine, based on how last year went.

Now we are meeting some of the girls and their moms.  Maddie's little sister Mackenzie is also a part of this group but she is too young to take part in the first competition.  Maddie is 8 and Mackenzie is 6.  Maddie hasn't lost in a while, she doesn't know what its like.  Their is mom Melissa.

The moms are banished to "jail" as they call it.  Basically they have to go to the viewing room above the studio to watch their daughters dance.  Throughout the episode we meet the other moms and girls.

Cathy teaches dance herself but wants her 6 year old daughter Vivi-Anne to have an outside teacher so they come to the studio to try out.  Vivi makes it.  Good for her.  I have a feeling that Cathy thinks since she owns her own studio Abby is going to want to hear her thoughts on the dances.  I don't think Abby is going to want any help from her.

A mom of one of the girls not in the group being featured blows a gasket.  Her daughter was kicked out of class because she wasn't wearing the correct attire.  The main problem was that she was wearing socks when they were practicing flips and needed bare feet for traction.  The mom is acting like a crazy person to the point that Abby kicks both mom and daughter out of the studio.  Mom doesn't like this so Abby decides to call the police.  Nia's mom Holly is talking to this other mom to cool her down.  By the time the police arrive the mom is already in her mini van.  Basically the police tell her if she doesn't like what is going on to enroll her daughter in a different dance company.

The competition this week is in Phoenix.  As the girls and moms are unloading their stuff from the van at the hotel Holly goes to help Nia with her bags.  Abby won't have it.  Basically if the girls brought to much they had to handle it on their own.  Along with the clothing they have travel light up make up mirrors.

Before they walk in Abby tells them her rules.  No booty shorts and flip flops is the only one I remember.  One of the moms complains.  Abby is checking everyone in and the girls (or maybe the moms) are talking so Abby turns around and says library voices.  Christi mocks her behind her back.

Everybody is getting ready for the first dance now.  The hats they are supposed to wear aren't done yet with an hour to go.  Cut to all the moms talking about how everything is always last minute.  I'm thinking that has something to do with doing new dances every week.  New dances means new costumes and new accessories.

Abby notices one of the girls has acrylics on her nails.  She doesn't like the white because it will draw attention to her hands and nobody else has them.  Mom says well if you want them off give me the money and enough for both her daughters to get them taken off.  I don't understand why a 8 or 9 year old needs acrylics anyways.

Christi and the mom of the girls with nails sneak off to the bar to get drinks.  Abby finds them and they ask her if she wants a drink.  Abby says something along the lines of I don't drink on the job.  Back to the dressing room.  As a mom is putting a curling iron away her daughter bumps into it.  Poor kid.

It is finally time to dance.  The group dances.  Then we see the award ceremony.  They get third place.  Everyone considers this a loss.  The have to win the trio or the whole weekend was a waste.  They can't keep getting third if they expect to do well at nationals.  Talk about poor sports.  I noticed during the award ceremony that the girls were not in the outfits they danced in.  That isn't that big of a deal but the way they edited the show it seemed like after the group dance there was an award ceremony then they had to rush back to the dressing room and change for the trio.  While they probably did have to rush back to change I don't believe it was after and awards ceremony.

During the trio Chloe's headpiece falls in front of her face.  She keeps right on dancing and doesn't miss a beat.  After the dance Abby flips out on Christi because she was off at the bar and not making sure her daughters headpiece was properly secured.  With the way this show was edited who knows if this was truly the case or not.  While Abby and Christi are getting into it the trio of Maddie, Chloe, and Paige get first place and that is basically the end of the show.

One thing I noticed during the dressing room scenes is that it appeared the girls were wearing a third outfit to dance in.  But we only saw the practicing two routines and only dance two routines.  More bad editing.  If you want us to believe they only danced two dances then don't show them in a third outfit.

Based on the length of this post it is a good thing I didn't finish the other post because it was more detailed and would have been way too long.

Welcome!!!

I have a confession to make.  I am kind of obsessed with reality TV.  I just love it so much, I have to watch it.  Since I watch so much reality TV I thought it would be fun to blog about my thoughts on all the shows I watch.  The shows that are airing right now that I watch are:

  • 19 Kids and Counting
  • Teen Mom
  • Dance Moms
Once fall rolls around and some of the other show start airing again of course there will be different things to cover.
